This week Three Word Enemy provide music, Ken Rock tells us about writing for the comedy greats (including The Two Ronnies, Dave Allen and Ken Dodd) and then writes for a comedy no-hope-er (Zoe). We discuss attention deficit disorder and catch up with Musician Simon Lees (in Zoe's Mystery guest slot and Jason actually guesses them this week with out help or them saying their name!)
Yes... prepare to lose almost an hour of your life you will never be able to get back as you listen to this weeks episode of the Milk Bar!!!

Friday Oct 02, 2009

This week the lovely Tracey Rhodes aka Our Trace joins us in The Milk Bar to share some of her musings, Louise Stoke is on the phone telling of her Anti Bullying work, her comedy characters and entry into a web based talent show. Music is supplied by 3 legged fish and features a song about Daleks and we also hear about Foresight Theatre who open 'Cornershop' in the Mander Centre later this month.

Put on a posh frock, pick up your shopping basket and be prepared to evolve an extra limb for this latest episode of 'The Milk Bar'

Thursday Sep 24, 2009

This week chaos ensues once more in The Milk Bar as Stool Pigeon arrive (in the form of Bob Gessey and John Charnock) to sing us four rather Saucy Songs from 'Post Cards from The Edge' their current album and tour. Brian 'Boz' Aston who has been World Kickboxing Champion drops in to show Zoe a few moves (and she nearly falls over....) Zoe's Mystery Guest is unable to join us (it will remain a mystery as to why...) so Nikki Aldred of Kool Kids clothing joins us on the phone as well as one of Bob Gessey's mates who it turns out released a song about Darleks.... Please don't listen if you are easily offended as this weeks episode of The Milk Bar is rather rude in places!!!

Thursday Sep 17, 2009

This weeks sees, well hears, us talk to Simon Quinn from Fired Up Theatre about them, their work and their Youth Performers. Also Rotarian Richard Green joins us to talk about  the forthcoming Group Study Exchange which begins this weekend as well as letting us know about the Goldthorn Theatre Company’s latest production. The Nolans are celebrating the 30th anniversary of being in the mood for dancing with a new album, U.K. tour and a chat with Jason on the Terrace of the milk bar and this episode's musical offering comes from Red Already as Chris Leech dials in to inform us about the band and their EP launch.
So once again it's well worth popping into The Milk Bar - Thanks for dropping by!

Wednesday Sep 09, 2009

This week Zoe's mystery Guest actually answers the phone - first time - and it's the one and only, very talented (and truly nice guy)  Robbie Glover. Jake Flowers pops in to play us a few tunes and talk about The Hop - a forthcoming festival in south Shropshire and we are joined on the line by Dougie Bancroft  from the Royal Air Force Association  - he tells us all about a World Record Attempt taking place at Wolverhampton Racecourse (make sure you bring your air guitar....) Sit back and chill to the indescribable sound of The Milk Bar....

Thursday Sep 03, 2009

This week we again fail to talk to Jimmy Franks, Zoe comes over all potty mouthed and on a more positive note we talk to Award Winning Children's Author, Artist and Musician Johnathon Coudrille about his work, life and Farmer Fisher. Also on the phone is David Bathurst from Chasewater Railway and live in the Milk Bar (with his Girlfriend's Guitar) is Glenn Rossington who provides ths episodes musical distraction..... Once again an action packed trip to the Milk Bar....

Friday Aug 28, 2009

This week we are joined on the phone by Greg Stokes from the Kates Hill Press who tells us about some Poetry and comedy nights taking place in the coming months, Zoe gets excited when she finds out that young men take their clothes off for charity when Tracey Rogers talks bout some events she has organised and Brett Huckfield brings His voice, a guitar, a tambourine and some of those shaky egg shaped rattley things (& Marie Timmins to sing along and operate the latter two items!) to the Milk bar….

This is my second uploading of this week’s episode with much improved sound quality from about 3 minutes 24 seconds in.... I had to retrieve the mini disc back up due to technical problems with the computer recording of the episode.... ho hum.... This means that not only do we suddenly stop sounding like we are talking through a sock but we get the (preferred) “take one” of the second song Brett performs.... on the down side I may have missed taking out some of our mistakes!!! Sit back and listen to the slightly crisper sound of The Milk Bar.....

All of this brought to you in slightly lower than normal audio quality due to having invested in a brand new computer that would be going back to the shop if it wasn’t on my mobile broadband contract…..  I’ll see how much of this episode I can reconstruct from the back up mini disc later…. please check back at the weekend…. Or enjoy the sound of The Milk Bar like it’s coming from my laptop speakers……

Friday Aug 21, 2009

This week there nearly wasn't a podcast due to electrical works in the Milk Bar (we were having a new waffle maker fitted....) Zoe  returns from her holiday - I'm sure you missed her too..... Alex Vann joins us to sing a couple of songs(www.alexvann.net).... John Starkey has some predictions for our musicians future and Black Country Touring take us from a National Trust Property to the corner shop.....  The competition is still open for that week long pass to Fitness First in Cannock..... This is as close to normal as we get in The Milk Bar.....

Thursday Aug 13, 2009

This week Zoe is away on Holiday so standing in for here we have Nina Blakemore. Nina is a 'plus size' model (which seems to  mean she is amazingly beautiful, in fabulous shape, curvy in all the right places (...and then some!) and doesn't look like she has forgotten to eat for the last 4 years... without having a fraction of an ounce of fat even in the same city let alone about her person...) She is on Channel 4's 'How to look good naked' (hosted by Gok Wan) and has just been filming the latest series (with a cat walk show in Birmingham when this episode was recorded).
The guests this week are Louis Barnett from Shropshire based family run company Chokolit (an enterprise he started at the age of 12), Sally Mansell from The Fashion Show Company and music from Groucutt and Haynes (Rob Groucutt and Dan Haynes). With more glamour than you could shake an erm...  Milkshake at this must be this week’s installment of 'The Milk Bar'...
Don't forget to enter our competition to win a weeks pass to Fitness First in Cannock and a Half an Hour PT session from www.benbate-pt.info. Just e-mail us with your details and tell us approximatly how many Fitness First clubs there are in the UK (the answer is actually in Episode 8!). Our email address is themilkbarpodcast@googlemail.com.
